Arun Kapil the ‘Spice Guru’ is a chef, food entrepreneur, spice expert, published author and founder of Green Saffron, the multi-award-winning purveyors of the finest spices, rice, sauces and spice blends, based in Cork, Ireland. Honing his skills at Ballymaloe, Ireland and kitchens in London. His intimate knowledge of spices and spicing gives his food a joyous modern edge.
From a family of spice traders and great home cooks, now based in Middleton in County Cork by way of Lincolnshire and Uttar Pradesh, Arun was born to a Yorkshire mother and Hindustani father, and grew up under the influence of a fusion of flavours – classic British dishes from his mother and exciting, exotic spices from his father.
Arun regularly appears on the Today Show with Maura and Daithi on RTÉ 1, contributes to Irish national radio and has made appearances on several shows in the UK, including ‘Sunday Brunch’ and ‘Cookery School’.
